		<description><![CDATA[I was dubious about using exercise dvds or similar as I&#039;ve seen them wind kids up previously, but began to use them just because I had children trailing in in dribs and drabs after lunch and thought it would be a good gathering activity. We use activ8 and is very calming I find. 

Also, it has the children doing some hand gym, something some children really benefit from I think. Definite winner after lunch for me.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Homework is a constant thorn - students hate it, but parents question it if homework isn&#039;t given. I love the idea of choice. When a single homework is assigned - a large portion of the students do not complete it. If they had a choice, they probably would find something to interest them/engage them. Thanks for jump starting my brainstorming for how I can implement something like this for my students.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[This has really got me thinking.  Thanks!  I think I broadly agree with you.  

It&#039;s a little tangential, but it made me think of rhetoric and the Greek approach to ethos (where ethos is a way of persuading).  They broke ethos down into virtue, practical skills and goodwill towards the audience.  If the rhetoric of school is to try to persuade children to love learning, then this 3 fold divide struck me as a little less nebulous than the catch all &quot;primary ethos&quot;.  The only thing that would change at a primary level, I think, is perhaps the practical skills, apart from that I think schools have the same ethos.]]></description>
