I am delivering sessions entitled ‘Putting the c  back into ICT’ to UEA Primary PGCE students on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th October 2011, along with Tuesday 6th December.

On this page you will find links for use in the session, aswell as to things mentioned or demonstrated.  This page is quite long- but hopefully you will be able to find what you are looking for.  I have broken it down into the themes covered in the session.

Important links:-

  • My Class website- www.mrhandley.co.uk
  • 2 other key links are on the session page on the UEA portal.

Theme 2- Sharing and communicating.

With Children- blogs, websites and other communication tools.

Services to start a blog with

Many other blog services are blocked in Norfolk.  Some wordpress.com blogs are too- but your school can request them to be un-blocked (which will usually happen as long as it is class/education blog).   Don’t embed youtube into a class blog, else it will get stripped out, and the blog possibly blocked by the filtering system in Norfolk.

Blog links for our Comment Blitz

Other Great blogs who would value comments:-

Twitter in class…

Links to some of the fab twitter accounts of children:-

More posts for Bill Lord on tweeting with @giraffeclass can be found:-
Also Edmodo- the education microblogging site.

Videoconfrencing:-

  • Skype is the obvious and simplest choice- but barred in some Norfolk schools.
  • Contact vital.ac.uk about gaining access to elluminate
  • Or explore with your school access to flashmeeting via e2bn.
Blogging as a professional

Here are some great teacher blogs to dip into:- (taken from the PGCE Survival Guide)  Bold entries are ones shown in the session- all are good reads though :-)
